In March Brett and I took a well needed R&R to St. George. We wanted to bask in the sunlight but got rained instead. However, the green grass and beautiful flowers made up for it. We did a session at the Temple there and were excited to get a chance to see some areas of the temple that most people can't. My mom and sister in law watched our kids as we spent time relaxing and enjoying each others company.

Once home we got back into the swing of things with soccer, soccer and more soccer. Parker just finished her indoor season and has started her spring session of competitive league games. Alexa made her school soccer team and has been having 3 games a week. CRAZY!! Tayler is going to try tumbling this next month, and Sam and Logan will start their well needed swim lessons in April as well. So busy time ahead.

We are preparing for the big event in July. The kids are so excited to have another baby sister. SURPRISE! We have been picking up a few things here and there and they are loving every minute of it. My favorite thing is when they want to feel the baby kick. Logan puts his ear and my belly and says, "She's crying mommy." Even with all the aches and pains that come along with having a baby in your thirties, it is worth it.

I just took my real estate agent test and pass my state exam but have to study some more to retake the general exam. Although it's a bummer I feel that the additional classes I have to take will be well worth it.

Brett got a job with Challenger Schools. After looking and interviewing for over a year, he finally received this opportunity. It seems to be the right job at the right time. He has expressed how much he likes it and the people he is working with. It seems that all the hard work has paid off.

I think my sister in Law Karen summed it up the best: "Often the deep valleys of our present will be understood only by looking back on them from the mountains of our future experience. Often we can’t see the Lord’s hand in our lives until long after trials have passed. Often the most difficult times of our lives are essential building blocks that form the foundation of our character and pave the way to future opportunity, understanding, and happiness. "
--President Dieter F. Uchtdorf, Priesthood Session April 2010

I know that Brett receiving this job is because of the many prayers offered in our behave. We have felt the love that has come from both our families and all our friends. You know we can not see the big picture and it can get very frustrating especially when you are trying your hardest to do what is right. I can see now why it has taken this long and why we have had to struggle. We have learned many great and important experiences that have changed our lives. There are many, many blessing that have come from being jobless. They have been so abundant that I can't help but think that our Heavenly Father does loves us and wants the best for us.

OK so I'm rambling on. I haven't taken many pictures but will try to do better and post some in the future.

So, yes it has been a long time since my last blog and lots of things have happened. My fav is as you can see in the picture Logan has learn to get his own milk. I'm a proud mommy!! j/k He is growing up so fast and I'm loving every minute.
Our girls Alexa and Parker have enjoyed their soccer season. Alexa is a fast runner and loves the social part of soccer. Surprise! That girl can make friend with anyone. She also is so excited to start Young Women's this month. Parker is soooooo competitive and it is very fun to watch her play. She has had a set back with planters fasciitis and has been in therapy. She is recovering faster then we had hoped. She wants to try out for competitive soccer soon. Time will tell.
Tayler has decided not to play soccer and try tumbling instead. She recently fell while playing in the backyard and fractures her collar bone. She has been in a collar brace and sling for almost 2 weeks and will have another xray to see if it has healed this Saturday. Other then that she is good.
Sam had found a new friend to play with. His name is JT. They are inseparable. As soon as she wakes I hear, "Can I call JT to play?" They are good friends and play everyday.
Brett recently lost his job and is looking hard to find a new one. He is finding it quite hard due to the economy. Our spirits are high and we know that it will take some time to find something but when he does it will be just what we need. He keeps busy with all the projects around the house and also helping his sister Karen with her projects.
Just like all of you we are so busy. I have tried in the past to dedicate an hour on Wednesdays to update my blog, facebook, email, etc. but have been so inconsistent. I am going to try much harder. I love hearing and seeing about how all my friends and family are doing. Keep it Up! Remember to Smile and Be Happy! Kari

Just a few things that have taken place since the New Year has started....Grandma Finally home from the hospital. Brett's Mom had to have surgery for some bowel problems. She became sick at the beginning of December, hospitalized in January, and came home a week ago. We are so happy she is doing better.
Parker finished her biography report. She chose Dallas Friday a well known wakeboarder known in the X Games circuit amoung other things. Parker loves many different sports activities but is also a girly girl. She is a well rounded mix of both her parents.
Alexa finished her Science Project on "Our Tongues Threshold". It was fun working with her on this project. We had fun and actually enjoyed each others company. She even told me she had fun working with me. Wow! I was surprised! She is such a beautiful young lady and finds the fun in everything she does.

" Lucy" my parents dog came with my parents when they came to visit us. She is the cutest dog ever and we love her to death. We also love when my parents come too??!! Just Kidding

Our little man is growing up so fast. We bought him his first suit and he looked so handsome we snapped a shot. He is so funny and loves the attention. Logan often reminds me so much of Brett it makes my heart skip.
That's it so far but much, much more to come. Love to all who watch our family blog.

Christmas at Temple Square

Thought everyone would like to see what Salt Lake Temple Square looks like during the hoildays. Obviously it is better in person but I think Brett got some really great shots. May we all remember the true meaning of Christmas and how blessed we are this season. Have a Merry Christmas and a wonderful New Year. Love to All, The Lockhart's

HAPPY 2ND BIRTHDAY TO LOGAN!!!
We had lots of fun!
Logan got a special surprise for his birthday this year. He burnt his hand on the stove. Its a flat top electric burning stove and they stay hot for awhile after you turn them off. He loves to watch me cook and when I finished, I moved the hot pot to the back burner and turned off the front one I was using, he put his hand flat on the burner I had just turned off. He was trying to reach the pot on the back I had just moved. It was so sad. I am so glad Brett was home to help. Logan was in pain for some time and couldn't stop crying. We immediately put ice on it and then burn creme and a bandage. Needless to say he is much better today and he really did have fun on his birthday. Brett got Logan his first toy gun. A little shotgun that has darts. He loved shooting his sisters. Payback has begun!!

A couple of cheese balls. I can't believe that Alexa is going to be 12 next year. CRAZY!!

Parker and Tayler couldn't get enough cookies. I stopped them at 15. J/K They had 5 each.

Easter

You will see a new slide show to the left. For my birthday my sister Kristen invited me to go to Wicked in LA and to stay with her. I had a blast. We talked, stayed up late, got manicure and pedicures, talked, got our makeup done, went to the swapmeet, talked and tons more. It was great to have some time to myself and re-energized for the family waiting back at home. Wicked was an amazing play. It was very unexpected. I loved being in CA and seeing everything. It was beautiful. When I got back home to UT I went to my mom and dads to stay with the kids leaving Brett behind to work. We had fun relaxing and spending time with them. Easter come up fast. The kids had fun finding eggs and Logan could care less. With the snow pretty much gone all he wants to do is go outside to play. He loves swinging and loves to jump. We are hoping he gets some hops in order to play basketball like his dad. Konrad come over on sunday to have easter dinner and spend time. We love when he comes over. He always brings toys to play with or movies he has downloaded or and ofcourse laundry. I really have enjoyed having family around me once again.
